Deluxe SD (sealed drag) reels. Deluxe SD Salmon and Steelhead reels are available on a made to order basis. We are delivering reels approximately 60-90 days after receiving your order. Deluxe SD reels feature a one piece aluminum spool, solid Ebonite rubber side plates and German Silver protective side bands with 12% nickel silver fittings. The spool, foot and serpentine handle are aluminum alloy. The drag knob is a multi-turn type with a positive detent position locking system. The knob is machined from solid 12% Nickel Silver bar stock. The entire reel is hand polished to a jewel like finish. The reels feature our new multi-disc carbon fiber drag system, totally sealed to operate in the harshest conditions. The drag is smooth and adjustable from 0-to an incredibly powerful brake, far more then we can imagine using- but it is all there if needed with everything in between. Additionally every reel has a preset gear & pawl drag for controlling spool overrun when light disc drag settings are made. This also contributes to the great sound of the reel when a fish makes a strong run. The Deluxe SD Salmon and Steelhead reels are the ultimate combination of classic materials and design and modern high tech drag technology. These are the perfect match for modern bamboo two hand Spey rods.
